Homeward Bound

It's nearly 3pm here in Brisbane and J and I are checked in for our flight back to New Zealand. It's been an amazing awesome 4 weeks holiday here in Australia. Good food. Amazing company. Lots of laughs. Fun. It's the second year in a row now that we've done this trip and we are still loving it.

I'm tired and exhausted so I'm looking forward to getting home and doing absolutely nothing tomorrow. I've done our laundry so the only thing I need to do is unpack our stuff. I honestly could sleep for the next week. My sleeping has been so crazy since I got here but I'm hoping over the next few days my sleeping starts to get back to some sort of normal.

Looking forward to my visit in July for now see yah later Brisbane and I will see you in 5 months. Already can't wait!

Friends. Family. Food. My all time 3 favorite Fs hahaha!

Friday Family Fun

It was my last day with my brother and his family. Spent the day at home with the kids. It was fun. We did have a rough morning though. SIL had a foster dog the last couple days and the person who ran the shelter place came to pick the dog up. Poor Roimata bawled her eyes out. Hugged the puppy and didn't want it to go. She was so sad. It seriously broke my heart. I even had a little tear. Poor we thing. We had cuddles though which was nice. Even Tipene came in for cuddles lol.

Once everyone had calmed down we managed to enjoy the rest of the day. We played outside. Played inside under the air con and we even did Lego. Well, Roimata and I did. She even drew me a card. She's all, Aunty I made this for you. Opened it up and she's like this is you and me taking photos and those are your glasses haha. I seriously love her.

Kyle (my other brother) also came for dinner and it was really nice seeing him. Such good food. Total carb overload but man it was a good thing to eat for our last night here. Pizza. Garlic Bread, Pasta and Salad all home made minus half the pizza which was pre-made we just added more toppings lol.

I'm going to miss my family but I've honestly had the best trip. Spent lots of time with Perth family, then time here with Brisbane family anddd a quick stop over in Newcastle. It's been an amazing holiday. I'm tired though. I feel it. I look it. It's not good, so I'm definitely looking forward to heading home.

July is 5 months away and I'll be back for 3-4 weeks visiting my family. On my own. Sister is going to come as well so hopefully we can convince Dad to come too.

It's nearly midnight here so best get some sleep. Morning and early afternoon with sister and her girls before we head to the airport for our 5pm flight.

Goodbye Newcastle

I'm sitting in the Newcastle Airport departure terminal nearly 2 hours early for my flight as M had to do a drop and go. Got myself some food and now I'm just waiting. It was a little sad to not spend as much time as I'd have liked on my last day BUT I get it and he already felt bad enough.

We had an amazing awesome few days and I'm glad that we got to meet. It's interesting when someone brings you into their life and you get those little glimpses of the ins and out they'd been telling you about that goes on yet you'd never believe, unless you'd seen it with your own eyes.  He does a lot and is expected to do a lot. It doesn't help its become his life these last few years and it's all now just become habit and so ingrained it's hard to make a change.

I admire him for doing what he does but life is too short to not make your own happy. Sometimes we have to be selfish in order to have the life we deserve. The life our family deserves rather than that fairy tale that isn't real.

I won't wait forever but I'll wait some. I'll let him sort his shit and we will go from there. Like I said, these next few months are about smashing out personal health goals. Time to get my A into G and get moving.

See you soon Newcastle!

Hump Day

It's hump day apparently but that didn't happen for me. I think I wore him out. Poor guy. Lol.

It was a good last day here. We hung out. Walked along the harbour and then we found this random star wars Cafe to eat it. We both got the same meal but it was super yummo and I loved the name of the place.

After brunch we came back to the apartment and talked. I would say these last few days all we've done is talk. See some of the sites and talked some more. It's been an interesting but really great few days here. Today was one of the better talks we've had. Had a little cry as you do because we all know how much of a sook I am but it was good to get things out in the open.

I honestly have no clue what's going to happen. I won't wait forever but if he's not ready to do the things that need to be done then that's on him. I want the both of us to be happy and whether it's with each other or not, time will tell. We will keep in touch and go from there. I did also tell him that I'm awesome and to not let me pass him by because he will miss out haha.

For now, my goals once I get home are to focus on myself, my health and my fitness. On top of trying to keep on top of my blog and I think just more going back to why I started this blog in the beginning. It was all about finding myself outside of a failed marriage. Now with the new year and hopefully with the Trachy coming out soon 2018 will be a year of new things and new adventures.

I'm feeling excited about the year and what it has in store. I think...., actually, I know it's going to be amazing.

Back to Brisbane tomorrow then we have a couple more days before we head home Saturday.

Dinner with my family tomorrow night then spending the night with my sister Friday who will then hopefully drop us to the airport.

It's been an amazing trip but I'm looking forward to getting home.

Tuesday Travels

Today we went for brunch and just walked around the beach. It was muggy so we didn't stay long. But it was nice to get out and about. Went to a random little Cafe across the road from the beach as well. Food wasn't too bad. I ordered poached eggs with Salmon told M they needed to learn how to plate properly lol. He ordered a toasted sandwich which looking back I almost wished I'd got it for myself. They did however have an awesome drink. Watermelon. Ginger. Beetroot and mint.  Super yummo. Then they served their water in random funky glasses but it was a good early afternoon out.

Checked out a few shops. Picked up some stuff from the supermarket and made some yummo dinner. Not sure why I ate so early but it was totally worth it. Steak. Corn. Broccolinni and Tomatoes lol. Random dinner.

It's nearly 6pm here and I'm smashed. I didn't sleep so well last night and was awake three times so maybe I'll try to have an early night or something.

Heading home Thursday so maybe tomorrow we can see a movie or something. It's been an interesting couple days but I'm enjoying the trip. It is a bit more muggy but at least we have air  con. I honestly think I'd die without it haha.

Newcastle

Today I flew from Brisbane to Newcastle. I wasn't sure what to think or feel. Anxious. Nervous. Happy. I did know though that I was excited but at the same time I hoped I wasn't going to be murdered. Lol.

Kim and the kids dropped me off at the airport. J stayed home waiting for my sister to pick her up. In that time she managed to help herself to food. Made a sandwich. Then she convinced Kim to make her another sandwich not knowing that J had already helped herself to one already. Js good at getting people to feed her haha. Lucky I wasn't around.

Got to the airport and the gate my flight was leaving from was already filled with people. Apparently it was everyone coming home. It was a quick 1 hour 15 minute flight. Ordered myself a Pepsi max as we left. Most expensive drink ever but totally worth it. Lol. A baby cried the whole flight though, poor thing. I'm guessing he had sore ears.

When my flight landed I nearly needed a nervous pee. Once off the plane I got into the airport and I was totally fine. Not nervous at all. The airport is in the middle of nowhere and Newcastle is actually famous for coal. Wouldn't have known that so you learn something new everyday.

We arrived into the CBD and once we managed to find where we were staying, the carpark, the apartment entrance and the key we'd checked in all okay. Well kinda checked in. It's an apartment so you kinda check yourself in. It's actually a really nice apartment and I'd totally live in an apartment like this. Has everything you need. Amazing views. Space for people to stay. Minimalist living but not to the point where you can't make it a home.

Grabbed some subway and now I'm chilling out feeling like I need an early night. It will also be nice to sleep somewhere that isn't a couch or a kids bed haha.

Who knows how the rest of the trip will go but so much can happen in 3 days, time will tell.

Picnic In The Park

Good day today. Kids woke me up and wanted cuddles in bed again. I'll miss them when I leave but it's nice they're all so affectionate and love having me here.

Today we all went down to the park for a picnic. Sister and the girls didn't come but it was still a fun day. It was way too hot though and we totally should have gone later in the day.

As we left the park I was feeling rather sick and light headed. Not sure what was up with that. Came home, sat myself under the air con and ended up in bed for the next couple hours feeling gross.

Brother is sick too soo unless we ate something bad, who knows what the heck is wrong. I've been having a lazy night and haven't done anything at all. Skipped dinner as I'm feeling way too sick to eat but I have been smashing back lots of ginger beer.

This heat has been crazy. It's muggy more than anything else. Apparently I need to climatise myself because it's why I'm feeling the heat way more than anyone else.

All in all a good day. Tomorrow I head to Newcastle for a few days. Excited. Nervous, but looking forward to the trip. I will have to make sure to take photos galore. It'll be my first ever visit there.

Parties On

Today was a fun day. I was torn between dressing up and not dressing up. Glad I didn't, it was hot as a mofo today and I don't think I'd have been able to handle the heat.

The theme was super heroes and almost everyone was dressed up, at least all the kids were.

We all ate way too much food. Laughed. Played games. Ate too much cake. Jumped on the bouncy castle. Painted our faces. Kim did an awesome job of setting it all up.

Such a fun day! Now I'm about to spam you all with photos.
