Easter Brunch

Today was an amazing day with friends and family.  I'm so lucky that I have people who love and care about me enough to include me in their family things such as Birthdays, Christmases, Easter, Girls Night Dinners just everything.  I love that people who were strangers nearly 3 years ago are now family and not just friends. 

Brunch with the Batley, Day, Nicholson family was great.  I was in charge of fruit salad and only managed to cut my finger towards the end but hey the fruit salad was amaze if I do say so myself lol. We also had croissants and hot cross buns.  It's not Easter unless it has hot cross buns.  Though I ended up with the kid version and had chocolate hot cross buns.  Soo good.

Perfect Strangers

It's sooo weird to think that you can meet someone who has been through a lot of the things you've been through... and after talking for the past hour or so letting my vent.. when all of a sudden it comes to an end.

We shall see where it all will take us... roll on the rest of my evening, my life and the rest of my 2014.

Chocolate Egg

My nanny kids are amazing.  Tonight when Mr. 6 got in the door from school the first thing he made sure to do was to give me an Easter Egg.  It was a great last day with the kids today and I will miss not seeing them for the next 2 weeks but I'm looking forward to the break. 

I think I might miss them enough to make a plan for dinner with them in the next few days haha!  I think I'm a sucker for punishment lol.

Onsies

Today Mr. 10 came home from school and needed me to take him out to get a onsie for school as it was last day of school tomorrow and his year were having a pyjama day at school.  Boy was it a mission.

We went from Herne Bay out to St Lukes mall when we got there I realised I didn't have my wallet and didn't really want to go back home then to the mall again.  Lucky for me I had my drivers license in the car.  Headed to ASB bank and was given a replacement card which I needed to replace months ago.  Woo.  Got that sorted all in 20ish minutes.

The next hour or so we were at the mall was a mission.  Mr. 10 went from shop to shop to shop trying to find a onsie that he wanted to wear.  It needed to have a hood and it needed to be an awesome animal.  We went to I don't know around 6 different shops before we FINALLY found one.  After waiting to hear back from Caro she said it was ok for Mr. 10 to get it...I told Mr. 10 that the $50 it cost to get that onsie is like a lifetime of chores lol.  Lucky for him it was on sale for $38 but he still needs to work a lifetime of chores to pay it back.

As crazy as it was Mr. 10 was happy and we came away with an awesome onsie.

Happy Birthday

Had a great Birthday today... work early and couldn't get back to sleep soo ended up having breakfast with the amazing Mel.  I drove out to Browns Bay and had an awesome breakfast with mocha.  I loved spending the morning with Mel as with both of us having busy work schedules it's hard to make time so it was great.

I came home had a chilled out afternoon and then I went to Raya and Mikes for dinner.  They are amazing and made awesome lasagne for dinner along with cheese and crackers as snacks.  I had an amazing birthday with people who were once strangers and now people I class as family.  I'm so lucky how far I have come to have gone from everything to nothing and in 2 years now have pretty much everything.  I really do love my life and where I am at the moment.

Happy Birthday Eve

Its less than 24 hours till I'm 28. Soo much has happened in the past 28 years but I'm grateful for all of the challenges I have been through and I'm looking forward to another year filled with mixed emotions and a lot of fun.

The kids gave me an early awesome gift today. Mr. 6 picked the heart and Mr. 10 picked the L.  I love those boys and was really spoilt by the nanny family this year.  Loved the gift and love them.

My awesome work colleagues behind the big blue door put on morning tea and organised a cake. The food was amazing and I'm so grateful to have friends who care when I don't have much family around.

Crazy Hair Monster, BDSM & Spanking

My hair is all kinds of crazy! Its thick curly wavy afro-y bushy and ready to attack anyone who gets in its way.

I try to go as much as I can to get it cut and coloured along with thinning it out so that it's not weighing my head down with the crazy monster that it is.

Got a cut colour treatment and even got Tania to straighten it... 2ish hours later and my hair isn't so crazy and it's even some what manageable

A work colleague transferred money to my account the other day and you totally have to love the reference.  It made me wonder if banks actually check the reference on customers bank statements.  It made me laugh and I'm glad we can all joke about how it was a cheap trill.  I do love the people that I work with.  They make working there so much more fun.

 

Apple Strudel

Mr. 6 came home with a library book the other day and the first thing it showed me was that he wanted to make Apple Strudel.  I told him we'd make it the next day. 

Today he came home from school and it was all he wanted to do.  The book came with instructions on everything from making the pastry to making the filling. I peeled cored and chopped apples then got onto the pastry.  I have no idea what the freak happened but the pastry just wasn't coming together at all.  Tried a few times before giving up and going the cheaters route with bought pastry.  Turned out fantastically and according to Mr. 6 it was amazing! Woo!  Go super nanny Teesh.

The Church

Tonight the Elders came to visit me.  The last time they came was a few weeks back and I told them they could come again.  The came the following week but I wasn't home.  Last night they showed up unannounced which was fine and weird all in one.  I had been thinking about church and how I had seen on FB via friends and the www.mormon.org page that general conference was coming up and wondered if I should watch from home or attend at the nearest stake center. 

I enjoyed the talk with the Elders and they invited me to conference on Sunday and will arrange for someone to pick me up which is really awesome.  They encouraged me to write down some questions that I had answers to and they knew that one of the apostles will have the answer to my question.

After nearly 2.5 years of inactivity it''s time for me to start thinking about going back.  Will blog and see how these next few weeks and months come along.

April is the month of birthdays for my family and today is one of my fav cousins birthday today!  I miss her and all of the fun things we did together from baking to monopoly to 12 days of Christmas... happy birthday lani I hope you have a great fantastic day and I'm soo happy that you're having the time of your life in the Phillipines.  I love you.  Happy Birthday xox

Superhero Birthdays

Got invited last minute to flatmates grandsons superhero themed 2nd birthday. Fun afternoon.  I had all of yesterday to think of a costume but decided to wait last minute to pull together a costume. I've always been like that when it comes to dress up things.  

Birthday was fun and lots of bad yummo food which I totally ate.  Kel did an awesome job with baking all the cupcakes and Loren did an amazing jobs with the decorating.  Not sure where the cake came from but white chocolate cake totally yummo.  The brown family looked amaze!

After all of my back and forth with costume ideas I decided to go with this.  Made it last minute and all for under $30.

Liar Liar Pants On Fire

I know I'm not the most perfect person in the world.  I know that I've done things I'm not proud of and I also know that yes I've lied and not just a little white lie BUT a full on break up my marriage kind of lie.  It's those experiences that have made me think twice before lying to anyone.

When talking with people online and there is the potential for there to become more than just friends or even just to be really good friends I'm cautious and wary and try to look at everything twice.

I had asked someone on more than one occasion if they were married both times they said no.. I asked again and still got the same answer.  A few days go by and today I decided to do a little more google stalking as you do (or should I say as I do)  and what do you know... hello married guy.  I hit him up about it but lets see if he decides whether or not he will finally be honest.  I told him the previous times I had asked him that I'd rather he were honest with me than lie in the hopes I'd keep talking to him.

I'm glad I trusted my instincts and decided to let my fingers do the typing.  Thank the Google Gods and the Cat Fish Gods I managed to find out the answer to my is he married question. 

Happy Birthday Paige

20 years ago today we welcomed into the world my sister Paige.  We have the same Dad different Mum so didn't see each other a lot growing up but if anyone ever asks I always say I have 2 brothers, 2 sisters which I do. Just Paige didn't live with us growing up that was all.

Happy Birthday Paige I hope you have a great day and that it is filled with love family friends and awesome presents... after all thats what birthdays are for aren't they? The presents? 

Ginger Ninja

Got home from work today and found that the crazy cat had jumped out of my window and onto the brick wall outside..  I don't know how he does it but the first time I saw him do it it scared the heck out of me. 

Oh and today's breakfast from Fit Me In was amazeballs.  It was muesli but not muesli.  Mix of slivered nuts and some seeds with fresh fruit and some coconut milk.  I hope it's on the menu for next week.  How can you not want to eat this?

In other news I think I'm coming down with a cold.  Blocked runny nose. Hot all the time. Sore tickling throat.  Not a good sign.

Rainbow Loom

My kids are in love with this new craze that is Rainbow Loom.  There are days when we are doing nothing and they can both just sit there and make bracelets galore.  Or use the iPad to find tutorials.

Today was no exception.  Mr. 10 has soccer so instead of dropping him off and coming back Mr. 6 and I tend to do a mix of watching him practice, play games on the tablet or do rainbow loom.  Today Mr. 6 was keen to get in some tutorials.  He got a little stuck and ended up giving him but he made this awesome bracelet for me which I love and wear.  He did warn me though to take it off when I sleep because it gets sore and tight lol.  All in all a good day.  Soccer starts this weekend for Mr. 10 so I might have to go out and watch the game depending on what time it is.

Happy Birthday Barb

Every morning Barb is the first person to arrive to work.  She gets in early and does her morning walk before work starts and every morning Esther and I catch up with her on whats new with her and her kids and her family.  It's great.  Yesterday it was Barbs birthday so yesterday Esther and I decided to get Barb a little birthday gift. 

Roll on this morning at work and global was hectic crazy.  After hours.  Monitoring.  Noise.  It just got a bit crazy and we didn't have a chance to catch up with her.  I guess the Birthday Gods were against us or something.  Later on that morning though before everyone else arrived to the office we got Barb to come back across the road and gave her her gift.

She loved it and I'm so glad that she did.  For a last minute gift I think we did a fantastic job.
